Design Intent Modeling (DIM) is the level of detail that an Architect or Engineer models do to the fact of lack of information. They put into the model spacial reservations that represent basic object shapes.
Work Intent Modeling (WIM) is the level of detail found in installation or shop drawing documentation. The sub contractor knows what they are buying, and if provided by the manufacturer, will use their 3D widget to replace the DIM objects in the model.
